The UAB Cardiopulmonary Imaging Fellowship is a one-year advanced fellowship providing comprehensive training in thoracic and cardiovascular imaging. Fellows gain extensive experience in chest radiography, chest computed tomography (CT), CT-guided thoracic biopsy, chest CT angiography, cardiac CT, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and chest MRI. Training includes exposure to interstitial lung disease, transplant imaging, advanced cardiovascular surgery, coronary artery calcium screening, and lung cancer screening. Elective opportunities are available in catheter angiography, three-dimensional imaging, nuclear cardiology, and positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT). Fellows also participate in research, teaching, and interdisciplinary conferences with pulmonary medicine and cardiothoracic surgery, preparing them for academic or private practice careers.
