Fellowship in Genitourinary and Renal Pathology

The GU/Renal Pathology Fellowship at UAB Heersink School of Medicine is a one-year advanced training program in Genitourinary (GU) and Renal Pathology. Fellows gain extensive experience in diagnosing benign and malignant conditions affecting the prostate, bladder, kidney, testis, penis, and adrenal gland, as well as a broad range of native and transplant renal biopsies. Training includes previewing and signing out Genitourinary and Renal Pathology cases, participation in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards, structured lectures and slide sessions, and opportunities for elective rotations in other Surgical Pathology subspecialties. Fellows are also encouraged to participate in basic, translational, or applied research, with opportunities for publications and presentations at national meetings.

1. Submit the fellowship application.
2. Submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. Submit three letters of recommendation.
4. One recommendation letter must be from the current program director.
5. Address the recommendation letters to the Director of the GU/Renal Pathology Fellowship Program.
6. The application and supporting documents are reviewed by the fellowship program for selection.
