The Oculoplastic Fellowship at UAB Heersink School of Medicine is a two-year advanced clinical and surgical fellowship focused on oculoplastic, orbital, and reconstructive ophthalmic surgery. Fellows gain extensive experience in complex eyelid, lacrimal, orbital, and facial reconstructive procedures, with progressive surgical responsibility. The program also provides multidisciplinary exposure through collaboration with ear, nose and throat (ENT), dermatology, plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and neuroradiology. Fellows participate in teaching and supervising ophthalmology residents in clinical and surgical settings, preparing them for advanced clinical practice or academic careers.
