The Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine provides comprehensive training in psychiatric assessment and treatment, combining psychotherapy, cultural psychiatry, neuroscience, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based clinical care. Residents gain diverse clinical experience across University of Colorado Hospital, Denver Health Medical Center, Denver VA Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and community settings. Training includes supervised clinical rotations, formal conferences, individual mentorship, research and scholarly activities, and exposure to specialized areas such as addiction, women's mental health, neuropsychiatry, integrated care, forensic psychiatry, telepsychiatry, mood disorders, and early childhood psychiatry. The program emphasizes progressive clinical responsibility, leadership, community engagement, cultural awareness, and development of lifelong learning and research skills.
