Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine

The Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School is a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship for physicians trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. The program provides comprehensive training in caring for older adults across outpatient, inpatient, home-care, long-term-care, and subacute-care settings. Fellows also receive experience in geriatric consultation, primary geriatric care, PACE, palliative care, geriatric oncology, neurology, rehabilitation, and wound care, along with didactic conferences, quality-improvement projects, research, and teaching opportunities.

1. Submit the fellowship application according to the program's application requirements.
2. Provide the required medical education and residency training documentation.
3. Submit applicable USMLE/COMLEX examination results.
4. Applicants who are selected may be invited for an interview.
5. Complete the required UMass Chan GME credentialing and appointment process.
6. Obtain the required Massachusetts medical license before the fellowship begins.
7. International applicants must provide ECFMG certification and meet the applicable visa requirements.
