The Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year ACGME-accredited advanced training program designed to prepare physicians to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and patient-centered care for the aging population. The fellowship focuses on managing complex medical conditions in older adults while promoting independence, quality of life, healthy aging, and disease prevention. Fellows receive clinical training through rotations in areas including geriatric medicine, geropsychiatry, home-based primary care, memory and neurology care, palliative care/hospice, physical medicine and rehabilitation, subacute care, and specialty clinics. The program also provides opportunities for teaching, research, quality improvement projects, and scholarly activities, preparing graduates for careers as skilled geriatricians, educators, and advocates for older adult healthcare
