Dermatology Residency Program

• Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school
• Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for U.S. Graduate Medical Education (GME) training
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must have ECFMG certification and meet U.S. residency application requirements
• Applicants must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
• Candidates should demonstrate strong academic performance, clinical skills, professionalism, and interest in dermatology
• Applicants must register for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Dermatology Match

The Dermatology Residency Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Irvine is a three-year ACGME-accredited residency program designed to provide comprehensive training in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of a wide range of dermatologic conditions. The program offers extensive clinical experience in medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology, cosmetic dermatology, cutaneous oncology, and inpatient dermatology care. Residents receive structured education through clinical rotations, lectures, case conferences, journal clubs, dermatopathology discussions, and research opportunities under the guidance of experienced faculty. The program emphasizes evidence-based dermatologic practice, procedural skills, patient care, and professional development, preparing residents for board certification and independent careers in dermatology.
