Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at UCSF is a comprehensive, ACGME-accredited training program that provides extensive clinical and surgical experience in women’s health. Residents are trained to become independent and competent in managing obstetric and gynecologic conditions through high-volume clinical exposure across diverse healthcare settings in San Francisco. The program includes robust training in all major subspecialties such as maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, family planning, and reproductive endocrinology. It also features advanced simulation-based learning and dedicated curricula in laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, and robotic surgery. In addition to strong clinical training, the program emphasizes academic development, research opportunities, interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentorship, preparing residents for careers in clinical practice, subspecialty fellowships, or academic medicine.
