The Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is a rigorous four-year postgraduate clinical training program designed to produce highly competent obstetricians and gynecologists. Residents receive extensive hands-on training in labor and delivery, high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology exposure, urogynecology, and women’s preventive health. The program emphasizes evidence-based medicine, patient safety, ethical practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Residents rotate through tertiary-care hospitals, community clinics, and specialty services, managing both routine and complex cases. Structured didactic sessions, simulation training, morbidity and mortality conferences, and research opportunities are integral components. Graduates are well prepared for American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) certification and careers in academic medicine, hospital practice, or subspecialty fellowships.
