Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program

• Must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Applications must be submitted through ResidencyCAS and participation in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) is required.
• Required application documents include:
• Medical School Transcript
• Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE/Dean's Letter)
• Personal Statement
• At least three Letters of Recommendation, including two from OB/GYN faculty
• USMLE or COMLEX scores
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must provide:
• Applicant Evaluation Status (AES) Letter from the Medical Board of California
• Documentation of visa status
• J-1 visa eligibility (if applicable).
• There is no minimum USMLE score required; applications are reviewed holistically.

The Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency at UC Irvine School of Medicine, Irvine is a four-year, ACGME-accredited residency program that provides comprehensive training in women's healthcare across the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology. Residents gain extensive clinical experience in low- and high-risk obstetrics, gynecologic surgery, gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, urogynecology, family planning, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The program emphasizes evidence-based patient care, surgical skill development, simulation training, research, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration across multiple clinical sites. Graduates are well prepared for independent clinical practice, board certification, and advanced subspecialty fellowship training in obstetrics and gynecology.
