The Selective Surgical Pathology Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a one-year, non-ACGME-accredited advanced training program designed to provide focused and intensive diagnostic training in all areas of surgical pathology. The fellowship offers extensive experience in the evaluation of surgical specimens, biopsies, frozen sections, immunohistochemistry, molecular studies, and complex diagnostic cases. Fellows can pursue additional subspecialty training in areas such as gynecologic pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, soft tissue and bone pathology, and breast pathology through elective rotations and research opportunities. The program also includes participation in multidisciplinary conferences, tumor boards, and teaching activities for residents and medical students, preparing fellows for careers in academic or clinical surgical pathology practice.
