The Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School is designed to prepare fellows for independent surgical pathology sign-out and leadership in academic or community practice. Training covers major subspecialties including GU/Soft Tissue & Bone, Gynecologic/Breast, GI/Liver, and ENT/Thoracic pathology, with elective opportunities in neuropathology, pediatric pathology, renal pathology, cytopathology, molecular pathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, informatics, research, and frozen sections. Fellows progressively assume clinical responsibility and receive training in IHC, ISH, NGS, frozen-section diagnosis, digital pathology, quality improvement, consultation, teaching, and translational research.
