Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program at UCSF School of Medicine, San Francisco is a two-year specialized training program that provides comprehensive clinical, academic, and research exposure in the diagnosis and management of mental health disorders in children, adolescents, and their families. The program emphasizes a multidisciplinary, biopsychosocial approach, with fellows training across diverse settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, and community mental health systems. Fellows gain expertise in psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, developmental and behavioral psychiatry, consultation-liaison services, and community-based care, while also engaging in scholarly activity and mentored research as a core component of training. The fellowship prepares graduates for careers in clinical practice, academic psychiatry, research, and leadership roles in child mental health systems.
