The Family Medicine Residency Program at Wayne State University School of Medicine provides three years of comprehensive training in primary and family-centered care. Residents gain clinical experience in inpatient and outpatient family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency medicine, women's health, geriatrics, sports medicine, psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology and intensive care. The program combines hands-on clinical rotations with structured didactic sessions, board review, point-of-care ultrasound, electrocardiogram training, practice management, quality improvement and patient safety activities. The curriculum is designed to develop residents' skills in comprehensive, continuous and community-focused patient care.
