Family Medicine Residency

1. Applicants must have graduated from medical school within the past two years.
2. Applicants must have completed nine to twelve months of recent clinical employment during the preceding year in the United States or a comparable healthcare system. Observerships do not qualify.
3. Applicants must have completed training in an accredited internship or residency program within the past two years.
4. Applicants must submit passing scores for Step 1 and Step 2 Clinical Knowledge of the United States Medical Licensing Examination within one attempt, or Levels 1 and 2 of the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination within one attempt.
5. Applicants must provide passing United States Medical Licensing Examination scores by January 15; scores above the national average are preferred.
6. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation, including at least one from a family medicine physician.
7. Applicants must provide a Medical Student Performance Evaluation, medical school transcripts, curriculum vitae, and personal statement.
8. International medical graduates must meet the above requirements, hold valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification at the time of application, have permanent resident status or a J-1 visa, demonstrate recent clinical experience, and demonstrate English-language proficiency.

2. Submit the completed application and medical school transcripts.
3. Provide the Medical Student Performance Evaluation and curriculum vitae, accounting for all periods of time.
4. Submit examination transcripts and proof of passing the required licensing examinations.
5. Arrange for two letters of recommendation, including at least one from a family medicine physician.
6. Submit a personal statement describing your background, experience, and interest in family medicine.
7. International medical graduates must submit valid certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and documentation of immigration status and recent clinical experience.
8. Submit all application materials by December 31.
9. Participate in the National Resident Matching Program selection process if selected for further consideration.
