Family Medicine Residency

1. Applicants must hold a medical degree from an eligible medical school.
2. Applicants must submit a complete application through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
3. Applicants must provide an official medical school transcript, curriculum vitae, personal statement, Dean’s Letter (Medical Student Performance Evaluation), and photograph.
4. Applicants must submit United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and/or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores.
5. Applicants must provide three letters of recommendation from medical school faculty or clinical supervisors.
6. Applicants must have clinical experience within the last three years. Research experience cannot substitute for clinical experience.
7. International medical graduates must provide Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification, a Postgraduate Training Authorization Letter from the Medical Board of California, and proof of permanent resident status or eligibility for a J-1 visa.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the completed application, official transcript, curriculum vitae, personal statement, Dean’s Letter, photograph, examination scores, and three letters of recommendation.
3. Ensure all required documents are submitted before the application deadline of November 1.
4. The program reviews applications based on academic merit and invites selected candidates for interviews.
5. Attend the interview, if shortlisted. Interviews are conducted from November through January.
6. Register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and submit the required rank order list.
7. Await the official match results and complete the required licensing, credentialing, and appointment procedures before joining the residency program.
