The Anesthesiology Residency Program at Wayne State University School of Medicine provides comprehensive clinical training in anesthesiology through a structured three-year Clinical Anesthesiology (CA) curriculum. Residents gain hands-on experience in general and regional anesthesia, critical care, cardiac, thoracic, vascular, obstetric and pediatric anesthesiology, as well as pain medicine. The program combines supervised clinical training with didactic teaching, Grand Rounds, case-based learning, morbidity and mortality conferences, journal clubs, research opportunities and quality improvement activities. The training prepares residents for independent clinical practice and further subspecialty fellowship training in anesthesiology.
