The Anesthesiology Residency Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis, is a four-year categorical residency designed to develop residents into skilled perioperative consultants. The program provides high-acuity clinical training across trauma, cardiothoracic, obstetric, critical care, regional anesthesia, and pain management. Residents train primarily at Regional One Health Medical Center, with additional rotations at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The educational curriculum includes weekly lectures, simulation sessions, workshops, mock oral board examinations, departmental conferences, grand rounds, and quality improvement activities.
