The Anesthesiology Residency Program at UAB Heersink School of Medicine provides comprehensive, hands-on training in anesthesiology and perioperative care. The program combines diverse clinical experiences, structured didactic education, simulation training, progressive clinical responsibility, and bedside teaching. Residents receive training across general and subspecialty anesthesiology, including critical care, obstetric anesthesiology, pain and regional anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, neuroanesthesiology, vascular anesthesia, and perioperative medicine. Opportunities for research, leadership, quality improvement, and patient safety are also integrated into the program.
