Anesthesiology Residency Program

1. Must submit all required application materials through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Must provide a photograph.
3. Must provide a minimum of three letters of recommendation.
4. Must provide a personal statement.
5. Must provide a curriculum vitae.
6. Must provide the Dean's Letter / Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE).
7. Must provide a medical school transcript.
8. Must provide a United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) transcript.
9. International Medical Graduates must meet the program's additional eligibility requirements.
10. International Medical Graduates must graduate from a medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools and recognized under the applicable California requirements.
11. The program does not sponsor International Medical Graduates and does not accept J-1 visas.

The Anesthesiology Residency Program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center provides four years of comprehensive training in perioperative and critical care medicine. Residents gain experience in general, pediatric, obstetric, cardiothoracic, regional, trauma, and vascular anesthesia, along with acute and chronic pain management. Training includes rotations through operating rooms, intensive care units, and specialty services, with additional clinical exposure at affiliated institutions. The program also includes structured didactic sessions, conferences, simulation-based education, research opportunities, and progressive responsibility in patient care.

1. Submit the application exclusively through ERAS.
2. Submit all required documents, including the photograph, three or more recommendation letters, personal statement, curriculum vitae, MSPE/Dean's Letter, medical school transcript, and USMLE transcript.
3. First-year resident positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
4. The program reviews submitted applications.
5. Applicants selected by the program are invited for an interview.
6. Interviews are conducted virtually; the interview schedule is provided to invited applicants.
