Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) was established in 1958, is named after Sir Charles Gairdner, a former governor of Western Australia. The Hospital has over 600 beds and employs approximately treat over 420000 patients every year, located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery and cardiac care. It is a teaching hospital for medical graduates from the University of Western Australia and the University of Notre Dame Australia.
