Pediatric Emergency Medicine Residency Program

The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship provides advanced training in the evaluation and management of acutely ill and injured children. Fellows receive extensive clinical experience at Children’s Hospital Colorado, with rotations and learning experiences in pediatric critical care, anesthesia, toxicology, trauma, EMS/transport, point-of-care ultrasound, and simulation. The program also emphasizes research, quality improvement, medical education, leadership, and scholarly activities, preparing fellows for independent practice and academic careers in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

1. Apply through ERAS
2. Applications must be submitted by July 31; late applications are generally not reviewed
3. The program participates in the NRMP Fall Match and typically does not offer positions outside the Match
4. Required application materials include:
5. Completed ERAS Common Application Form
6. Curriculum Vitae
7. USMLE, COMLEX, or ECFMG transcript
8. Personal statement describing interest in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
9. 3–4 letters of recommendation, including one from the residency director and at least one from PEM-trained faculty
5. Applicants are notified of their application status by August 15
6. Selected applicants participate in all-virtual interviews
7. Interviews are typically conducted on Wednesdays during September and October
8. Applicants submit their rank order list through the NRMP
9. Final selection is completed through the NRMP Match
