Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (FPEM)

• Completion of ACGME-accredited residency (Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine)
• Eligible for ABP or ABEM board certification
• Must meet ACGME fellowship training requirements
• Eligible for Maryland medical license
• International applicants: ECFMG certification + visa eligibility

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship is a three-year, academically focused training program designed to develop expertise in pediatric emergency care, research, and education. Based primarily at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the program provides comprehensive clinical exposure through rotations in pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric critical care, anesthesia, trauma, toxicology, child abuse, emergency medical services, and adult emergency medicine, including experiences at affiliated institutions such as Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, the Maryland Poison Center, and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Fellows receive mentored training in research and scholarly activities, with opportunities in areas like POCUS, disaster preparedness, infectious diseases, quality improvement, and transport medicine, while also gaining experience in teaching and curriculum development to prepare for careers as independent clinicians, educators, and leaders in pediatric emergency medicine.
