The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at UC Irvine School of Medicine, conducted in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), is an ACGME-accredited program designed to provide advanced training in the emergency care of infants, children, and adolescents. The fellowship offers extensive hands-on experience in high-acuity pediatric emergency settings where fellows manage trauma, critical illnesses, and acute conditions while developing expertise in resuscitation, procedural skills, and rapid clinical decision-making. The program includes structured clinical rotations, interdisciplinary learning, and strong emphasis on research and scholarly activity, preparing fellows for leadership roles in pediatric emergency medicine. The duration of the program is 3 years for candidates who have completed a Pediatrics residency and 2 years for those from an Emergency Medicine background, depending on prior training.
