The Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware is a three-year ACGME-accredited training program created to develop physicians skilled in clinical practice, leadership, education, and research in pediatric emergency care. Fellows train in a high-volume Level I Pediatric Trauma Center ED with ~60,000 annual visits, gaining experience in acute stabilization, trauma care, toxicology, EMS, critical care, ultrasound, and administrative leadership. The curriculum includes progressive clinical independence, structured research time, didactics, procedural training, and multidisciplinary conference participation. Fellows participate in weekly and monthly educational conferences (PEM lectures, journal club, board review, trauma and M&M conferences), with opportunities to engage in multi-center research via PECARN and scholarly dissemination. This fellowship prepares physicians for careers in academic medicine, leadership in pediatric emergency departments, and board certification in pediatric emergency medicine.
