Neonatal Perinatal Medicine Fellowship

The Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School is a three-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship providing comprehensive clinical and academic training in the care of premature, critically ill, and complex newborns. Fellows receive progressive clinical responsibility in the NICU, with training in delivery-room management, neonatal resuscitation, complex neonatal care, procedural skills, neonatal transport, family-centered care, maternal consultations, developmental follow-up, and long-term pulmonary care. The program also emphasizes quality improvement, research, medical education, patient safety, and community outreach. Fellows have opportunities to pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) with departmental funding.

1. Apply through the appropriate fellowship application process; UMass states that programs participating through ERAS require applicants to register and apply through ERAS.
2. Submit the required application materials and supporting documents.
3. Provide documentation of Pediatrics residency training.
4. Submit applicable USMLE/COMLEX examination results and other credentialing documents.
5. Applicants must meet the requirements for Massachusetts medical licensure.
6. Selected applicants are invited for an interview.
7. Complete the required UMass Chan GME credentialing and appointment process before starting the fellowship.
