The Hematopathology Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a one-year ACGME-accredited program focused on advanced training in diagnostic hematopathology and laboratory hematology. Fellows gain extensive hands-on experience in evaluating bone marrow, peripheral blood, lymph nodes, and coagulation disorders, supported by high clinical volumes and diverse case exposure. The program provides a balanced mix of supervised training and progressive independence, enabling fellows to develop expertise across all areas of hematopathology, including laboratory management and clinical correlation. In addition to clinical training, fellows are encouraged to participate in research, teaching, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives, preparing them for independent practice and leadership roles in academic or clinical laboratory settings.
