Fellowship in Hematopathology

• Must have an MD, DO, MBBS, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Must have completed an approved Anatomic Pathology & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) or Clinical Pathology (CP) residency program.
• Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in:
• Anatomic Pathology (AP), or
• Clinical Pathology (CP), or
• Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).
• Must meet the University of Illinois College of Medicine GME requirements for fellowship appointment.
• Must fulfill required medical licensure and credentialing requirements before starting the fellowship.
• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must meet applicable ECFMG certification and U.S. licensing requirements.

The Hematopathology Fellowship is a 1-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship program offered by the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago. The program provides advanced training in the diagnosis and management of hematologic diseases, including neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders. Fellows gain comprehensive experience in bone marrow pathology, lymph node pathology, peripheral blood and body fluid analysis, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, molecular pathology, cytogenetics, and hematology laboratory techniques. The fellowship also includes multidisciplinary case discussions, teaching activities, research opportunities, and clinical diagnostic responsibilities, preparing graduates for independent practice as hematopathology specialists.
