Fellowship in Dermatopathology

The Dermatopathology Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a prestigious one-year ACGME-accredited program jointly administered by the Departments of Dermatology and Pathology. The fellowship is designed to provide comprehensive training for dermatologists and pathologists seeking advanced expertise in dermatopathology within one of the leading academic medical centers in the United States. Fellows work alongside nationally recognized faculty and gain extensive experience in diagnosing inflammatory dermatoses, melanocytic lesions, cutaneous lymphomas, soft tissue tumors, pediatric dermatopathology, and a broad spectrum of benign and malignant skin disorders. The Dermatopathology Laboratory evaluates more than 30,000 skin biopsy specimens annually, in addition to over 2,000 expert consultation cases referred from across the United States, ensuring exceptional exposure to both routine and highly complex cases. Training includes advanced immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, molecular diagnostic techniques, and clinicopathologic correlation. Fellows actively participate in multidisciplinary conferences, resident and medical student teaching, scholarly research, publications, and presentations at regional and national meetings. Upon completion, graduates are well prepared for careers in academic medicine, tertiary referral centers, and specialized dermatopathology practice.

• MD, DO, or equivalent international medical degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Dermatology or Pathology residency program.
