The Advanced Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) is a comprehensive postgraduate training program designed to develop highly skilled cardiologists through advanced clinical education, research, and multidisciplinary patient care. Fellows receive extensive training in general cardiology, cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart failure, preventive cardiology, and vascular medicine while working alongside internationally recognized faculty. The program combines rigorous clinical experience with research opportunities and academic mentorship, preparing graduates for leadership roles in cardiovascular medicine, academic practice, and clinical research.
Step 1: Submit an ERAS Application

Step 2: Submit Required Documents

Step 3: Register with NRMP
Register for the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), as all fellowship positions are filled through the Match.
Step 4: Application Review
The Admissions Committee reviews applications based on academic performance, clinical training, research experience, and letters of recommendation.
Step 5: Virtual Interview
Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in virtual interviews with faculty members and current fellows.
Step 6: Match Process
Applicants and the program submit their rank order lists through the NRMP, and fellowship positions are offered through the Match.
Step 7: Begin Fellowship
Matched candidates complete onboarding, credentialing, and licensing requirements before starting the fellowship in July.
