The Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) is a 12-month program providing advanced training in sports medicine for physicians who have completed an Orthopaedic Surgery residency. The fellowship covers operative and non-operative treatment of athletic injuries, sports medicine clinics, team and event coverage, pre-participation examinations, and the pathology and biomechanics of sports injuries. Fellows also participate in clinical and basic science research and are required to complete at least one research project, with opportunities for presentation or publication.
