The Pathology Residency Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a four-year ACGME-accredited residency that provides comprehensive training in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP). The program offers extensive experience in diagnosing diseases through surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy pathology, hematopathology, molecular pathology, microbiology, transfusion medicine, clinical chemistry, and laboratory management. Residents train at UC Irvine Medical Center, VA Long Beach Healthcare System, Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), and affiliated institutions, gaining exposure to a diverse range of clinical cases and advanced diagnostic techniques. The curriculum also includes research opportunities, multidisciplinary conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and faculty mentorship, preparing graduates for board certification, fellowship training, and careers in academic or community pathology practice.
