The Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program at Wayne State University School of Medicine is a five-year integrated program combining comprehensive clinical training, surgical experience, research and academic education. Residents receive training across major subspecialties including otology and neuro-otology, skull base surgery, head and neck oncology, rhinology and allergy, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and bronchoesophagology. The curriculum progresses from broad surgical training in the first year to increasingly advanced clinical, operative, leadership and supervisory responsibilities in later years. Residents also participate in Grand Rounds, head and neck tumor conferences, journal clubs, research seminars and specialized courses such as temporal bone, sinus, facial plastic, head and neck anatomy, laser and pathology courses.
