Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program

The Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program is a five-year ACGME-accredited residency providing comprehensive clinical and surgical training in disorders of the ear, nose, throat, upper respiratory and alimentary systems, and head and neck. Residents receive progressive hands-on surgical experience across otology, rhinology, laryngology, facial plastic surgery, skull-base surgery, head and neck surgery, microvascular reconstruction, sleep surgery, and pediatric otolaryngology. Training is conducted at Keck Medical Center of USC, Los Angeles General Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, with structured research, conferences, mentorship, and increasing surgical independence throughout residency.

1. Apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
2. Submit the ERAS Common Application Form and required supporting documents.
3. Submit a personal statement, medical school transcript, MSPE/Dean’s Letter, minimum 3 recommendation letters, photograph, and USMLE transcript.
4. International medical graduates must submit the required ECFMG status report.
5. Register with the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
6. The program reviews applications and selects candidates for interviews.
7. Participate in the residency interview and selection process.
8. Submit the NRMP rank order list and participate in the NRMP Match.
