Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program

1. Applicants must graduate from a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) in the United States or Canada, or from an appropriately accredited osteopathic medical school.
2. Graduates of international medical schools must have graduated from a medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and meet Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification requirements.
3. Applicants must meet the additional eligibility requirements established for the Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery specialty by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
4. Applicants must satisfy Cedars-Sinai Medical Center graduate medical education, credentialing and California postgraduate training requirements.
5. Applicants must submit a complete application with all required supporting documents for consideration.

The five-year Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides comprehensive clinical and surgical training across the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat care. Residents receive progressive experience in head and neck surgery, laryngology, pediatric otolaryngology, general otolaryngology, rhinology, otology, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Training includes rotations at Cedars-Sinai, Rady Children’s Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, along with community-based practice and dedicated research experience. Senior residents also receive elective time to develop skills in a preferred subspecialty or broader clinical area.

2. Submit the required application materials, including curriculum vitae, personal statement, medical school transcript, dean’s letter or Medical Student Performance Evaluation, examination information and letters of recommendation.
3. International medical graduates must provide applicable Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) documentation.
4. The residency program reviews submitted applications and selects qualified applicants for interviews.
5. Applicants selected for an interview complete the program’s interview and evaluation process.
6. Final selection is conducted through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), followed by Cedars-Sinai credentialing and onboarding requirements. Cedars-Sinai states that its residency programs participate in the National Resident Matching Program where applicable.
