Hematology & Oncology Fellowship

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship providing comprehensive training in hematologic and oncologic diseases through intensive clinical care, research, and academic education. The first year emphasizes inpatient training in hematology and oncology, with rotations at University of Colorado Hospital, Denver Health, and the VA, along with outpatient continuity and subspecialty clinics. The second and third years offer increasing clinical responsibility and opportunities for clinical, translational, and laboratory research, with specialized tracks in Clinical Investigator Research, Clinical Education, Clinical Excellence & Quality Improvement, Laboratory-Based Research, and Bone Marrow Transplantation. Fellows also participate in weekly educational conferences, journal clubs, grand rounds, multidisciplinary discussions, and clinical research activities.

11. International medical graduates must additionally submit a Foreign Medical License and ECFMG Status Report
12. Applicants should use an ERAS preference gold or silver signal, as preference signaling is used as an important part of the initial screening process
13. Selected applicants are invited for virtual interviews
14. Applicants participate in the NRMP Match for final placement
