Hematology & Oncology Fellowship

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.
• Eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Apply through ERAS and participate in the NRMP Match.
• Submit a CV, personal statement, letters of recommendation, transcripts, and examination scores.
• Successfully complete interviews and credentialing requirements.

The Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a rigorous three-year ACGME-accredited program that prepares physicians for careers in academic and clinical oncology. Fellows receive comprehensive training in the management of hematologic malignancies, benign blood disorders, and solid tumors within a nationally recognized cancer center. Clinical experiences span inpatient and outpatient settings and include exposure to stem cell transplantation, precision oncology, investigational therapeutics, and supportive care. The curriculum integrates protected research time, allowing fellows to pursue laboratory, translational, clinical, or population-based research under expert mentorship. Fellows actively participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, teaching activities, and quality improvement initiatives. Through a combination of exceptional clinical volume, scholarly opportunities, and individualized mentorship, graduates are well equipped to become leaders in hematology and oncology.
