Fellowship Program in Breast Imaging

1. Applicants must have completed formal residency training in Diagnostic Radiology.
2. Candidates should have the clinical and professional qualifications required for advanced breast imaging training.
3. The fellowship is non-Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (non-ACGME) accredited.

The Breast Imaging Fellowship at Ochsner Health is a one-year, non-ACGME-accredited subspecialty training program designed to prepare radiologists for careers in academic or private-practice breast imaging. The fellowship provides comprehensive clinical experience in screening and diagnostic mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and image-guided breast interventions. Fellows progressively assume responsibility for diagnostic workups, procedural planning, patient communication, radiologic-pathologic correlation and multidisciplinary patient management. The program also includes weekly tumor board meetings, high-risk screening, quality improvement activities and resident teaching. Ochsner Health is a nonprofit academic healthcare system serving Louisiana, Mississippi and surrounding Gulf South regions.
