Fellowship Program in Breast Imaging

1. Completion of a Radiology residency.
2. Must be ABR-certified or eligible for ABR certification, or have an equivalent qualification.
3. Must be eligible to obtain a Massachusetts medical license by the fellowship start date.
4. Applicants must meet applicable UMass Chan GME eligibility requirements.
5. Applicants requiring ECFMG certification must provide the applicable ECFMG certificate.
6. For fellowship applicants, all USMLE Steps (1, 2 CK, 2 CS and 3) must have been passed; applications missing Step 3 are not considered.

The Breast Imaging Fellowship at UMass Chan Medical School provides advanced training in comprehensive breast imaging and image-guided breast procedures. Fellows gain extensive experience in screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound-guided biopsy, MRI-guided biopsy and needle localization procedures. The program offers training in a high-volume breast imaging service with multidisciplinary exposure to the evaluation and management of breast disease.

1. Complete a Radiology residency.
2. Confirm eligibility for ABR certification and Massachusetts medical licensure.
3. Prepare the required application documents:

7. 3 letters of recommendation, including one from the Radiology Residency Program Director
8. USMLE transcript
9. ECFMG certificate, if applicable

5. The program reviews applications once all required materials are received.
6. Eligible candidates are considered for an interview.
7. Participate in the applicable NRMP Match/selection process.
8. Complete UMass GME credentialing and Massachusetts licensing requirements before joining.
