Fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease

The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine is a three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship based at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The first year focuses primarily on clinical training in inpatient and outpatient pediatric infectious diseases, including infectious disease consultations, HIV care, antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control, transplant and immunocompromised patients, and microbiology/virology. Fellows also receive training in global health, epidemiology, tuberculosis, travel medicine, immunology, rheumatology, and adult infectious diseases through electives. The second and third years are primarily dedicated to research, with opportunities in clinical, translational, laboratory, epidemiological, global health, HIV, and antimicrobial stewardship research. The program also emphasizes teaching, academic development, scientific presentations, and publication of research findings.

3. Submit a current CV
4. Submit a Personal Statement describing your reasons for choosing Pediatric Infectious Diseases and your career plans
5. Submit 3–5 Letters of Recommendation
6. At least one recommendation letter should be from the applicant's Residency/Fellowship Program Director
7. Submit USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX Level 3 documentation
8. International applicants must provide a valid ECFMG certificate
9. Applicants must be eligible for a Colorado medical license
10. Applications are reviewed beginning July 15 and continue through October
11. Selected applicants are invited for virtual interviews, generally held from August through mid-November
12. Applicants participate in the NRMP Fall Match
13. Fellowship training begins approximately one year after the Match, with the program's stated start date of July 8
