Fellowship in Infectious Diseases (FID)

The Infectious Diseases Fellowship Training Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine provides comprehensive clinical and research training in adult infectious diseases. Fellows gain clinical experience across multiple sites, including University of Colorado Hospital, Denver Health, Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, and National Jewish Health, serving diverse patient populations. The program focuses on developing skills in the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases, while providing structured opportunities for research, scholarship, mentorship, and professional development. Fellows can work with faculty across Infectious Diseases and collaborating departments such as Microbiology and Immunology, preparing them for careers in clinical practice, academic medicine, and infectious diseases research.

5. 3 reference letters from supervising physicians, including 1 letter from the Residency Program Director
6. USMLE certified transcripts for Steps 1, 2, and 3
7. ECFMG Certificate, if applicable
8. MSPE (Dean’s Letter)
9. Medical school transcript
3. The program reviews completed applications and selects candidates for interview
4. Participate in the required interview process
5. Interviews include a program overview, faculty interviews, and an informal meeting with current fellows
6. Register and participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Medical Specialties Matching Program
7. Final match notification is provided through NRMP
