Fellowship in Infectious Diseases (FID)

• Must have completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program
• Must hold an MD or equivalent medical degree
• Must be eligible for Internal Medicine board certification
• International Medical Graduates must meet ECFMG certification requirements
• Must submit a complete ERAS application

The Infectious Diseases Fellowship Program at the University of Illinois College of Medicine (UICOM), Chicago is an ACGME-accredited fellowship program designed to provide advanced clinical, research, and teaching training in the field of infectious diseases. The program spans two or more years and prepares physicians to manage a broad range of infectious conditions, including bacterial, viral, fungal, and mycobacterial infections, HIV, transplant-related infections, and complex infectious diseases. Fellows receive extensive clinical experience through inpatient consultation services, outpatient infectious disease clinics, clinical microbiology training, infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and hospital epidemiology.
