Fellowship in Allergy and Clinical Immunology

The Allergy and Immunology Fellowship at UCSF School of Medicine is a comprehensive subspecialty training program designed to develop expertise in diagnosing and managing allergic, immunologic, and respiratory disorders across both pediatric and adult populations. The program provides extensive clinical exposure through inpatient and outpatient services, including asthma, food allergies, drug allergies, immunodeficiency disorders, and complex immune-mediated diseases. Fellows receive hands-on training in advanced diagnostic techniques such as skin testing, pulmonary function testing, and immunologic laboratory evaluation, along with experience in immunotherapy and biologic treatments. The curriculum integrates research, encouraging fellows to participate in clinical or translational studies, and emphasizes academic development, teaching, and multidisciplinary collaboration. By the end of the program, fellows are well-prepared for board certification and careers in academic medicine or specialized clinical practice.
