Fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology

1. Must be a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program.
2. Must be eligible for a Medical Board of California license.

It is part of Stanford Medicine, which integrates education, research, and clinical care to advance medicine and train future physicians. The Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship is a one-year advanced training program that provides comprehensive clinical experience in adult cardiac and thoracic anesthesia, cardiovascular critical care, and perioperative echocardiography. Fellows receive supervised training in complex cardiac and thoracic procedures, cardiac and lung transplantation, aortic surgery, structural heart procedures, mechanical circulatory support, and transesophageal echocardiography, preparing them for independent practice and advanced certification.

1. Apply through the San Francisco Match Central Application Service (SF Match CAS).
2. Submit the complete fellowship application and required application materials through SF Match.
3. Applications for the current cycle are accepted from November 2, 2026, through February 1, 2027.
4. The program begins reviewing application files in December 2026.
5. Selected applicants are invited for interviews in March 2027.
6. Applicants submit their rank lists by June 3, 2027.
7. Match results are released on June 17, 2027.
