Fellowship in Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology

1. Completion of anesthesiology residency training.
2. A valid California medical license before starting the fellowship.
3. International Medical Graduates must submit a valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate.
4. Required United States Medical Licensing Examination scores and American Board of Anesthesiology Basic Examination results.
5. Three letters of recommendation, including one from the Residency Program Director.

The UCLA Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship provides advanced training in cardiac and thoracic anesthesia, perioperative transesophageal and transthoracic echocardiography, electrophysiology, and research. Clinical experience includes robotic cardiac surgery, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, minimally invasive cardiac procedures, and heart and lung transplantation. The program includes operating room training, echocardiography, intensive care, research, and educational sessions.

2. Application submission period: November through January.
3. Interviews take place in March, by invitation only.
4. Submit a completed application, personal statement, curriculum vitae, examination scores, medical school diploma, three recommendation letters, and other required documents.
5. Submit additional supporting documents by email as instructed on the official application page.
6. Expected fellowship start date: August 1.
