Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program

The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, Brooklyn is a four-year ACGME-accredited residency program designed to provide comprehensive training in medical imaging, diagnostic interpretation, and image-guided patient care. The program offers extensive clinical exposure across radiology subspecialties including neuroradiology, chest imaging, body imaging, gastrointestinal and genitourinary radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, ultrasound, mammography, pediatric radiology, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology. Residents receive hands-on training at University Hospital at Downstate, NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Hospital Center, and Brooklyn VA Medical Center, managing a diverse range of diagnostic cases and advanced imaging modalities. The curriculum emphasizes image interpretation, procedural skills, patient care, communication, research, professionalism, and preparation for American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification. The program prepares graduates for independent practice in diagnostic radiology, academic medicine, and subspecialty fellowship training
