The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a highly regarded ACGME-accredited training program designed to prepare future leaders in medical imaging and diagnostic medicine. Based primarily at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one of the leading academic medical centers in the United States, the program provides extensive exposure to advanced imaging technologies and a broad spectrum of clinical cases. Residents receive comprehensive training in all major radiology subspecialties, including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, thoracic imaging, abdominal imaging, breast imaging, pediatric radiology, nuclear medicine, cardiac imaging, and emergency radiology. The curriculum combines intensive clinical training with structured didactic education, multidisciplinary conferences, tumor boards, journal clubs, simulation experiences, and board review sessions. Residents work closely with nationally recognized faculty and gain experience using state-of-the-art imaging modalities including MRI, CT, PET/CT, ultrasound, digital radiography, and molecular imaging technologies. Research is strongly encouraged, with opportunities for participation in clinical, translational, and imaging science projects. The program fosters leadership development, evidence-based practice, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Graduates are exceptionally well prepared for American Board of Radiology certification examinations, competitive fellowship programs, academic medicine careers, private practice, and leadership positions in radiology and healthcare systems worldwide.
