Eligibility Criteria

About Course

The Child Neurology Residency Program at the University of Minnesota Medical School is a five-year categorical residency combining 2 years of General Pediatrics, 12 months of Adult Neurology, and 24 months of Child Neurology. Residents receive comprehensive training in pediatric and adult neurological disorders across four clinical sites, with exposure to pediatric epilepsy, EEG, neurodevelopmental disorders, neuromuscular conditions, genetics, complex care, stroke, neurocritical care, and outpatient subspecialty care. The program also includes protected didactic training, simulation, quality improvement, advocacy, research, and opportunities through Neurology Educator, SPRINT Research, and Global Health tracks.

Admission Process

Apply through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service); the program accepts applications only through ERAS.
Submit 3 letters of recommendation from faculty members with whom you have worked.
Submit the Dean’s Letter/MSPE.
Submit a personal statement.
Submit your CV.
Submit the official medical school transcript.
Submit USMLE and/or COMLEX transcripts.
IMG applicants must provide or obtain ECFMG certification before starting residency.
Selected applicants are notified by email through ERAS and invited for an interview.
Applicants participate in the residency Match process after completing the interview process.
