Child Neurology Residency Program

The Child Neurology Residency at UCSF is a highly regarded, integrated training program that combines pediatrics and neurology to develop expertise in diagnosing and managing neurological disorders in children. The program provides extensive clinical exposure through inpatient consult services and outpatient specialty clinics, along with structured didactics and interdisciplinary training alongside pediatrics and adult neurology teams. Residents gain experience in key subspecialties such as epilepsy, neurogenetics, metabolic disorders, and neuromuscular diseases, while also participating in academic activities, conferences, and research projects. The curriculum offers flexibility for pursuing research, global health, or education-focused tracks, and emphasizes mentorship, clinical excellence, and the development of future leaders in pediatric neurology.
