Child Neurology Residency Program

The Child Neurology Residency Program at UC Irvine School of Medicine is a 5-year, ACGME-accredited integrated training program conducted in collaboration with the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). It combines two years of core pediatrics training followed by three years of specialized training in adult and child neurology, providing a strong foundation in both pediatric care and neurological sciences. The program offers extensive clinical exposure across inpatient and outpatient settings at major affiliated centers, where residents gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of neurological disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. The curriculum emphasizes comprehensive clinical training, structured academic teaching, and research involvement, supported by experienced faculty and multidisciplinary teams. Overall, the program prepares residents to become skilled and compassionate pediatric neurologists, eligible for board certification and careers in clinical practice, academics, or subspecialty fellowship training.
